Two separate protocols, never mixed.
nuaj. devices were evaluated by a third-party laboratory in South Korea, in two separate studies: one on the face, the other on the neck. The areas, durations, ages and methods differ. Each result on this page is tied to its own study.

Skin density, measured.
20 women aged 25 and over, every evening for 3 weeks: a firming cream, then the mask for 20 minutes. Skin density and hydration were measured with instruments before and during the course. The differences are statistically significant (p < 0.001). The figures therefore apply to the mask combined with the cream.
This is a before / during comparison, with no control group. The neck study, by contrast, compared each result with a control side. We would rather say so than present the two studies as equivalent.

Neck study · 4 weeks
Each participant was her own control.
Run between October and November 2023 with 20 women aged 40 to 57. Each participant applied a neck skincare product every evening to the whole neck after cleansing. The light was then applied for 20 minutes to one side of the neck only, the test side, while the other side received the skincare alone: the control side.
This within-subject comparison separates the effect of the light from individual differences (age, lifestyle, exposure), since both sides belong to the same person. Measurements are instrumental: Cutometer for elasticity, ANTERA 3D for wrinkles, sagging and radiance, following the laboratory's standard operating procedures and under the supervision of a quality assurance officer.
How to read the figures: the side treated with light improved 1.67 to 2.83 times more than the control side, depending on the measurement, with a statistically significant difference (p < 0.001 for elasticity, p < 0.05 for the other measurements). Sessions were combined with a daily neck skincare product; the control side received the same skincare alone. These results apply to the neck, not to the jawline, the face or the décolleté.

No side effects reported.
In the neck study, none of the 20 participants reported a skin reaction during the 4 weeks: no erythema, no oedema, no scaling, no itching, no pain, no heat sensation, no tightness, no tingling. The researchers observed no allergic or irritant contact dermatitis.
In the face study, no side effects were reported among the 20 participants either.

Scope & limits
What these studies show, and what they do not.
Two panels of 20 participants each: small groups, with standardised instrument measurements. Percentages are rounded to one decimal. Photobiomodulation works as a course: consistency matters, and results vary with skin type.
Face results do not transfer to the neck, and vice versa. Neither study covered the décolleté.
